SciFi and Fantasy Art: Good and Evil

This is part of a request done up for http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/s/t/stayton/ it is supposed to be two swords, one is a good sword and the other an evil one.

The top one is the evil sword, a thin and malicious looking, a very fluid sword. It is called Mortal Severe, guess the name fits it, able to slice its way through a person's life.

the next one is a sword for a good character, a family heirloom and a regal sword. it took two tries to get this sword right, but I like the finished result. I tried to make it elegant but not overly flashy. This sword is called King's Honor.

the third one in the request will be in another picture called Blood Rose.

Wowsers, I like the design on the 'evil' sword especially! And I think you acheived the effect you were looking for on the second one.

:-) Joshua Doten Davids replies: "thanks, the first version of the good sword turned out well enough but i just didn't think the blade turned out ok, then i did the second version and it turned out much better. as for the evil one i was trying to get a fluid and smooth feel to it, but also one that showed its true purpose as well."

They're both so beautiful! And the names you chose for them are more perfect than you know, because of their histories in my story. Thanks again, I love them!! ^_^

:-) Joshua Doten Davids replies: "again you are welcome, oddly enough i sketched out the evil sword hours before you sent back the description, i looked at the sketched and just blinked thinking, yep this fits. i am also glad the names fit the weapons, i was wondering what to call them for an hour or so, stumped for good names."

Very nice picture. The evil sword really does look evil. It has that slippery, sly, and cunning kind of aura, a sword distorting truth. The other sword, king's honor, is really nice too. Looks very regal, kingly, majestic, as if made to do honor and good.
